Tis the season for freezin

During this portion of our year in the North West Hemisphere we tend to notice a change in wardrobe is required. We drag out the "Winter" clothes and continue on with our normal daily activities. Well, we never put a sweater on a 55 gallon drum. We never put a scarf on a tube of grease. The issue with fluids is that they don't fair well in cold. Kinda like our 90% water bodies, things start to stiffen up in cold weather and just surviving becomes a challenge.

So, now may be a good time to "Winterize" your lube practices. Drum heaters with thermostatic controls end up being a comfortable solution for critical outdoor applications. Ensuring any battery powered solutions are utilizing Lithium power cells will give you power down to 40 degrees below zero.

Understand that when temperatures drop, the pour point of most fluids have a dramatic effect on performance, especially when used in automated lube solutions. System that operate at 600 psi will spike easily into the 2000+ psi range when the temperature drops. Frequency of lubrication has a dramatic effect on pressure as systems will need more time to let pressures equalize.

If you find you have an issue with any type of lube system as the season moves into colder temps, please give our office a call. Our staff is well versed as our office is located in Milwaukee, WI. We know cold and we are prepared to assist you with combating Jack Frost.

What's cooking at Xact

Right now we are heavy into development of several products. We have a new Proofer Chain lube system set to debut. We have a Tunnel Oven lube system we are updating for electronics and redesigning components to reduce installation time. We are continuing to expand our Lube-Guard offerings to complete the safe storage and distribution of food grade lubricants. We have continued working on special projects for non-food grade markets.

We have extended our family to include Mr. Jason A. Presley, Project Manager. Mr. Presley will be directly responsible for continued progress on existing projects. We are currently integrating much of our software and control logic developments into the entire Xact line of lubricators, including the Sniper series.

Mr. Presley comes from an electro-mechanical background involved in GPS location of corporate assets and fleet management. His hands-on experience and abilities will suit him well as we continue to improve upon existing designs and progress our product lines.
